Ever since I began editing WSS, I have been pounding the table about the misleading idea that Web services are "simple." It is easy enough to keep something simple when it is new and is little more than an attractive prototype. But once you add all the industrial-strength features that users need, your bicycle tends to wind up looking more like a tank.
