Tommy Ward joined Google in February of 2009, to assume management of compliance within the systems developed and operated by Google.
Mr. Ward has over 26 years of experience in the network and information security field. He started his security career in the US Navy, where he was responsible for voice and data encryption systems. He has worked in engineering, product management, product marketing, consulting and services management. Prior to Google, Mr. Ward was head of the Security Consulting practice at RSA, The Security Division of EMC. Previous to RSA, his other roles included partner at MSB Associates; Vice President of Consulting at Securify, Inc.; Senior Consultant at both Trusted Information Systems and Network Associates; Strategic Application Manager at Digital Pathways; and Independent Validation and Verification Manager at Verilink Corporation.
During his career, he has led development of security products, developed security architecture and policy for distributed systems, and performed and led many security assessments.
