Rate your level of agreement with the statement The CIO is free to choose strategic options as a business leader of the organization

In a recent article in which he analyzed this data, Tom Murphy, Senior VP and CIO of AmerisourceBergen Corp. wrote "While the CIO is typically not in a position to decide how the company will respond to imminent or perceived threat, he or she should be positioned to influence the response and be able to articulate very clearly the consequences of that response. This is accomplished by having three levers in place: 1. A well-understood strategy for IT that makes clear the value proposition for the company; 2. A governance model that aligns IT with the business and facilitates shared accountability for finite human and financial resources; and 3. A relationship with the organization that allows for candid articulation of consequences in a fair and objective manner."
